I'm Deb Selway, an independent NDIS Support Coordinator and Recovery Coach. I live in Burra, Mid North SA, and I care for NDIS Participants right across the Goyder, Clare and Gilbert Valleys and Beyond.

I know the NDIS system can be incredibly frustrating but when it works, it works really well. I'm here to ensure you:

- take the frustration out of navigating NDIS and
- make sure your Plan works for you!

NDIS RECOVERY COACHING
I'm a highly qualified NDIS Psychosocial Recovery Coach. My aim is to help you, your families, friends, carers and service providers to work together to assist you to live your best life.
​
As a Recovery Coach I will:
​

engage with you in a relationship based on mutual respect, trust and hope
-
build and support you with your recovery plan
-
coach you to help you increase your recovery skills, personal motivation, strengths and decision-making capacity
-
assist you to make sense of your NDIS Plan and to utilise your supports for your greatest benefit
-
work with your family, friends, carers and others to help you implement your recovery plan.

That's me pictured adjacent when I was a teenager. I've grappled with depression since my teenage years and have, in my adult years, successfully come to manage my condition well. My lived experience of mental health challenges informs my practice as does my professional qualifications as a Master of Guidance and Counselling.
​
I deeply understand the challenges that come with having and managing a mental health issue and as such bring insight and empathy to my work as a Recovery Coach. If you feel I can assist you as a Recovery Coach let's have a chat!

ABOUT DEB
All my life I have stood up for justice for all, including people living with disability. I began working in the area of disability and wellbeing in 1997 as a lecturer in the Schonell Education Research Centre, University of Queensland.
​
Over the years I continued to work in the disability sector in various capacities including:
​

As a Careers Counsellor in the Disability Employment sector.

As a Far North Queensland WorkAbility Coordinator with National Disability Services Qld, working closely with the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) senior staff.

More recently I worked as a Mid North SA Local Area Coordinator with NDIA contractor Baptcare.

Now that I am an independent NDIS Support Coordinator, I am free to use my extensive background and knowledge in the disability sector, to help you make the most of your personal NDIS Plan.

I have a Master of Counselling & Guidance degree and a PhD; I've completed the NDIS Worker Orientation module with the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission; I have a current First Aid Certificate and all the appropriate clearances from SA Department of Human Services.

I live in Burra and love my life in the wonderful community of Mid North South Australia. My dog Prince and I love hanging out together. If you'd like to meet Prince, I'm happy to bring him along to our meetings if you would like a personal introduction.
